Clinical Presentation
An anal fistula small channel with its internal opening in the anal canal and its external opening in the skin near the anus .
Causes includes
-
An infection near the anus causing abscess in the nearby tissue

Crohn’s disease
-
Infections from Tuberculosis (TB)
Sign & symptoms include
-
External opening on perianal region
-
Pus or blood discharge
-
Swelling
-
Pain
-
Skin irritation & redness around anus
-
Bowel incontinence and constant pain that may be worse when you sit down, move around
-
Have a bowel movement or cough etc.
Treatment includes open / laser fistulectomy .
