Clinical Presentation
A hernia occurs when an organ pushes through an opening in the muscle or tissue that holds it in place.
The most common symptom of a hernia includes

A bulge in the affected area which became prominent on standing and disappears on lying down.

MIld pain or discomfort.

Risk factors include:

Picking up heavy objects (especially lifting them in the wrong way and with weak muscles)

Overuse of the same muscle

Strained movement (such as ongoing coughing, sneezing, diarrhea, or constipation)

Being overweight or having poor nutrition

Use of tobacco
-
Having part of your organ or tissue push through a cut from surgery (incisional hernia)
Preventive measures include

Avoiding straining (such as ongoing coughing, sneezing, diarrhea, or constipation)

Weight reduction.
-
Avoid lifting heavy weight.
-
Avoid tobacco.
Treatment
-
Laparoscopic Repair using a mesh with small holes.
-
Open repair using mesh.
